Southwark Pensioners Centre provides a welcoming space where anyone aged over 50 can access a wide range of services, participate in social activities, and find a sense of belonging. Each year we support 1700 older people to live independently and enjoy life to the full. All the Trustees and staff at Southwark have lived experience of the issues affecting older people in Southwark, either because of their own age, health, ethnicity or income; or because of providing significant support to older relatives and friends.
In 2026, with the support of Southwark Council we will move into a new building in which will enable us to deliver our vital services to more vulnerable older people. The new centre is on the ground floor and basement of a housing estate at the heart of the Camberwell community with good local bus connections and has been designed with the specific needs of older people in mind, particularly those with chronic health conditions and disabilities. Our new centre is being developed in line with sustainability principles and will help Southwark Council achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We are seeking an experienced Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help steer the charity’s financial future at this pivotal moment.
