Volunteer

Be an essential part of the SPC team

We are always on the look out for new volunteers.

Volunteers contribute their time, skills and enthusiasm to SPC across lots of different areas of our work.

All volunteers are required to have a DBS check before starting in their role. If you don’t have one and would like to volunteer with us, don’t worry! We will support you through this process.

Volunteering roles

There are lot of different ways you could volunteer with SPC, depending on your skills and interests.

If you are keen to gain work expeirence in marketing and events, volunteering at SPC is a great place to start. You will have the opportunity to work on our website, social media and newsletter, as well as any marketing campaigns that are running, and to get involved in the production of our regular and special events.

A Digital Champion is someone who helps others to understand the benefits of being online and can spend some time showing them how. We welcome volunteers to help with our computer club session.

Whether you’re green fingered or just eager to learn, all hands are very welcome to get a bit mucky in our small garden. Depending on the season you will be planting, weeding, pruning or sprucing up the space.

This volunteer role is a great way to gain valuable work experience whilst providing invaluable help to the older people in your community. You’ll have the opportunity to do a range of tasks, from looking after our CRM to sending out mailings and making sure the office is organised.

If you’re a people person then this is the role for you. As a receptionist for the Centre, you will be meeting and greeting visitors, helping with enquiries including booking trips and appointments for our wide range of services and activities.
