Activities at SPC
A busy community hub, there’s always lots going on at our Centre.
Our regular weekly activities do not need to be booked. Some events, like parties, day trips, holidays and podiatry sessions do need to be booked in advance. When booking is required, we will make that clear in the event information.
This is a list of all the regular activities that take place at the centre and online. They are mostly run for older people, by older people. If you’d like to discuss starting a new group at the centre, you can get in touch with us by phone, email or by popping in to see us.
The programme
We want to help you in any way possible to find improvement and a better quality of life. So if you need a podiatrist, give us a call to make an appointment. Your first session is £25, and any visits after that will be £20. The service is available monthly, always on a Monday about halfway through the month.
Get creative with a range of painting and drawing techniques. Every Monday from 10am to 12pm. MAGS is an independent group supported by volunteer tutor Aisling. There is a waiting list for this popular group. Fees are £4.50 payable per week regardless of holidays or hospital appointments.
Mondays from 1pm – 3pm. A new group in development for SPC that gives you the opportunity to chat, have a laugh, and talk about anything that’s bothering you in a safe and confidential environment. Sometimes we play dominoes, board games or watch film clips. Only £2 for members / £4 for non-members.
Alternating Mondays from 3pm – 5pm. A group for men that gives us the opportunity to chat, have a laugh, and talk about anything that’s bothering us in a safe and confidential environment. Sometimes we play pool, darts, board games or watch films. Only £2 for members / £4 for non-members.
One-to-one computer sessions can be booked by appointment on Tuesday and Thursday mornings (10 am / 11 am / 12 pm) to learn basic IT skills. A 1 hour session is £3 for members and £5 for non-members.
